Aurel founded an organization of volunteers and performers from the New England belly dance community called The Helping Hips. The group is dedicated to spreading smiles and shimmies.  Their first ever charity gala sold out and raised over $7000 for  We Love Children, a charity based in Fall River, Mass. Aurel danced as well as several other of the region’s favorite dancers.
